The trade
The word comes from handy (skilled with your hands, practical) and man (a man). Literally, a handyman is a "jack of all trades": a versatile person you turn to for small jobs and everyday repairs.
In French-speaking Switzerland, people might call it a man of the house, a trusted handyman, or a kind of caretaker you can call on demand. Rather than a specialist in one trade, it's a resourceful generalist: assembling, repairing, painting, cleaning, clearing out, maintaining, and lending a hand wherever needed.
The idea is simple: instead of contacting several companies for small tasks, you have a single point of contact, responsive and affordable, for everything sitting on your to-do list. And when a job goes beyond my skills or needs an official qualification, I tell you honestly and point you to the right professional.
A wide range of small jobs, indoors and outdoors.
A familiar, honest face you can hand your keys to with peace of mind.
No more juggling between several tradespeople for small tasks.
A local service, available in your area of Valais.
Some tasks sit on a list for a long time: a wall that needs a fresh coat of paint, furniture to assemble, a cellar to clear out, a lawn to mow, or a few items to drop off at the recycling centre.
Le Bricotier is here to take care of these small jobs and practical services. The goal isn't to complicate things, but to find a simple solution suited to your situation and budget.
What I can do
I can help with various needs around the house, apartment, garden or premises.
Full apartment renovation, wall building, suspended ceilings, spotlights, bathroom, walk-in shower, painting, tiling and finishing.
Furniture, shelving, curtain rods, storage, kitchen units and small fittings.
Cellars, garages, attics, apartments, bulky items, loading and transport to the recycling centre.
Mowing, brush clearing, cleaning, tidying up, green waste removal and routine maintenance.
Assembly of small terraces, garden sheds, shelters, workshops and other simple installations.
Transporting people and objects, moves, one-off help and support for tasks that are hard to do alone.
I'm available to anyone who needs help, especially elderly people, people living alone, people on a limited budget, or those who aren't comfortable with DIY.
The hourly rate is CHF 80. Any travel, recycling centre, transport or material costs are announced in advance.
No jargon, no bad surprises: we discuss the need and the solution before starting.
Some projects need a plumber, an electrician, a tiler or another specialist. I can help you organise the steps, contact the right people and follow up on progress.
I don't replace regulated trades: when a job requires a specific qualification, I bring in or recommend the right professional.
